WEEN ACADEMY AUDITIONS

Alain L. Locke School | 21 W. 111th St. New York, NY 11026 (between 5th Ave & Lenox Ave)
Guidelines/qualifications
-Must be 18-22 years of age (during the time of auditions)
-Motivated, driven women with interests in working in the entertainment industry
-If chosen, must be available to attend the WEEN academy in New York City July 1—August 1. From 9am-1pm Monday-Friday.
-please dress in business casual attire for auditions
What to bring to the WEEN academy auditions?
1—One page resume
2-Two references
At the bottom of the resume, please add one personal AND one business reference (name, email address, contact #) (recommendation letters are NOT needed. References will only be contacted if you are in the final rounds to enter the academy).
3—Two 8×10 clear color pictures of yourself. (paper copies are acceptable). Please staple one of your pictures on the back of your resume.
4—A printed copy of one writing sample (500 word max/typed, double spaced) describing a personal dilemma that you have faced/are facing and the steps you took to overcome it.
What to expect at the WEEN academy auditions?
WEEN judges will be looking for motivated, driven, critical thinkers who can efficiently communicate their goals, possess leadership skills with impressive knowledge regarding various faucets of the entertainment industry. Please carve out the full day in case you are called back to participate in the last round of auditions taking place ~12:30pm.
Judges will only pick 20 young ladies to enter the 2014 WEEN academy.
***Early arrival is suggested. Judges will interview as many applicants as possible before 12:15 in order to invite finalists back for the final afternoon round.
If someone is chosen that do not live in NY will their be housing.

I am definitely interested in auditioning for this Academy, but I live in Birmingham, Alabama. Are there any auditions coming soon to Atlanta area.
Auditions are only held in one place in the United States. New York City.
Hello my name is Kristalle Chann’el I’m from Los Angeles California I am a 22 year old young lady and I’m an actor, singer/songwriter, dancer and business women. I am compleatly aware of my potential and I just need the right persons to help with my career. I guess what I’m really looking for is a mentor; People who’ve been where I have to go and will guide me in the right direction. I am beging for help and enlightenment. Can you elaborate on the format of this audition? Will WEEN judges be asking all the questions, this audition being more so an interview? Or should one interested in this opportunity prepare a presentation ex. powerpoint, hand outs ect..? Furthermore, are there additional tips that WEEN can provide in terms of preparing for this audition?
