She can also count working with The Purple Agency, Universal Motown Records, Merchandising Representative for Foot Locker’s corporate division and Event Planning Consultant to the Urban League as four of her many impressive career credits. Syreta was instrumental in campaigns for Swizz Beatz, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes and Diageo. She first honed her music business skills as an Urban College Marketing Representative for Atlantic Records and later as a senior level intern for Sylvia Rhone, the former Chairman for Elektra Records.

 

A proud graduate of Spelman College, Syreta, a former Pre-Med student, discovered that writing and communications were her true passions. She changed her major to English and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. Upon completing her undergrad studies, she went on to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations & Event Planning from New York’s renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).

 

Syreta’s strong writing ability is displayed in her personal essay published in the book, Souls Of Our Young Sisters (Kensington Publishing – June 2010). She also is featured as a contributor to the #LemonadeSyllabus inspired by the critically acclaimed Beyonce Knowles album release.

 

Philanthrophy, sisterhood and a sense of community are also very important to this Jersey City, NJ native. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Operation Take Back Jersey City, and WEEN (Women In Entertainment Empowerment Network) are among the non-profit organizations Syreta lovingly devotes her time and talents to.
